Tiffany N. D'Emidio

Hello! My name is Tiffany D'Emidio. It's hard for me to categorize myself as one type of artist because for the past twelve years of my professional career as an artist I have grown to become a "Jane of all Trades" if you will. This isn't a humble brag by any means. When you work for a non-profit where funding is limited you grow to wear many hats out of necessity.

I started my career as a graphic designer right out of art school doing traditional web and print design for a small PR firm in Washington, D.C. But over the past twelve years I have grown into so much more. I became a Sr. Web Media Specialist for a non-profit just outside of Washington, D.C. that teaches kids and teens how to make safer real world and online choices through animated shorts, online and mobile games and activities provided to the public, law enforcement and educators for free.

Though I started out a graphic designer creating assets for various websites and print materials, my role soon grew to storyboard artist, brainstorming pre-production story plot lines for both animated and live action videos as well as online and mobile games; illustrated children's book for online and mobile in addition to producing animated shorts using a combination of 3D renders of animated characters, more traditional 2D animation and assets from completed video projects. The projects ultimately found new life year after year with the continued advancement in technology such as smart phones, tablets and one of the most valuable resources being social media.

During my time with the production studio I also provided the voice of one of the 3D animated characters. He is a 7 year old boy who along with his older sister and best friend who happens to be a robot educate children about online and real world safety through their many adventures.

It's because of technology that my two worlds would often collide. While I spent the majority of my time in the production studio I also split some of time as a freelance entertainment writer for an online entertainment magazine where I interview various players within the industry and review television and movies that air throughout the year. Being active in various areas of social media and staying at the forefront of technology has become an invaluable asset with both positions and continues to be today.

While the program with the studio is no long in production, I found that working in such a creative and ever changing environment changed my perspective and helped me to grow as an artist. It's the type of experience I hope to find once again.
